About Us
SHVMC
The Rally was started in 1974 by a group of people from South Hams who had a keen interest in things old. This small group decided to repair and rebuild their old vehicles, restoring them to their full glory. Then they decided to show them to the public, holding the first rally in the summer of 1974. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength holding an annual rally in aid of charity.
To be part of the club you do not need to own anything vintage, or even be vintage to become a member! You are welcome as an interested spectator, helper, or general enthusiast. The club holds various events throughout the year for their members from winter social evenings to road runs.
Over the years the club has held the annual rally in aid of charity. We are very proud of the money raised for local charities over the club’s 50 year history.
The Main Event
Each year the club hold a two-day working vintage machinery rally, with the emphasis on the working element. The rally helps to promote vintage machinery of yesteryear as well as raise money for charity. We are proud to support the continuation of our heritage.
